First week happenings

Now that a week of school and work has gone by, just thought I'd document a little bit of the "fun" we've been having...

-attended an AA meeting last night for my psych nursing class. I was skeptical about going, not sure what it would be like, etc. but found it to be uplifting and insightful. It seems to be an amazing program and has touched many lives (even beyond those in the room). Just like bad choices influence others, so do good ones :)

-performed CPR (chest compressions) during a code in the ER for the first time. I have been CPR certified a countless number of times, and am finally putting that knowledge into action. Luckily I was just kind of thrown into it, so there was no time to worry or stress about it.

-Grant and I have been running together at 6 am each morning. With early class it is hard to get too much running in (easier for him since he doesn't have to do his hair-LUCKY), but am focusing on pushing myself and getting faster instead of distance. Once I get faster, I can go a little farther in my allotted morning time.

-I've oriented in triage, acute care, critical care and the pediatric ER thus far. I still have a lot to learn, but am slowly getting it all down.

(sorry, I haven't taken a single picture all week...I'll try to do better over Labor Day weekend for a more exciting update next week :)

  1. That is a lot for just one week. A code in the ER, an AA meeting and running. That's more than most do in a life time. :) Way to go guys. 6am runs - you are our inspiration!
