Apple turned pear picking

We had such a great time apple picking last year in Maryland (we ended up going twice because we couldn't get enough of the amazing apples) that we wanted to try it out here this year. The kids were super excited so we decided to make it happen. Julian is famous for their apple pies, so we thought it would be a great spot to try. We found a farm that had great reviews and after a stop in town for some apple pie, we made our way to the orchard.
Grant unfortunately had to study for boards, so I was thinking Alexa and I would be taking the kids by ourselves, but he decided to come with us and just study in the car (which was kind of a good idea except the drive was pretty windy and he got a little sick!)
It was definitely not a Maryland orchard, and it ended up being pretty hot that day, but we had fun nonetheless. However, the apple selections were slim pickings, so we picked almost exclusively pears. They encouraged us to try the fruit as we picked though, so that was really fun. Dylan sat in the wagon and just chowed down pears the entire time we were out there!

Eating an apple with a loose tooth :)
Dylan couldn't even be bothered to stop eating for a photo :)
The farm did have the fun apple pickers that the kids loved and because it was the last weekend that they were open we didn't feel too bad eating extra or leaving not great looking fruit.
Alexa and Boden deep in conversation :)
Real life family photo...no one is ready except for Dylan who is cheesing it up like crazy!
We may try to go a little earlier in the season next year and maybe try another farm, but it was still a really fun day and we definitely didn't leave hungry! And we ate some amazing charcuterie boards for days!
