Happy Spring (break)!

Happy First Day of Spring! I thought it was appropriate that it was 85 degrees out today and our first tulips opened. It was beautiful!
I was lucky enough to just enjoy a fabulous spring break in NC with some of my favorite people. Grant and I had different spring breaks again this year :( but we still made the most of it! My friend Rachel was driving to NC the same day I was planning to go, so I hitched a ride with her so that I could be there without a car so that Grant could come down the next weekend and hang out for a bit before driving me home!

I hadn't seen the triplets since October (which is a really long time in baby days-and the longest I had gone without seeing them since birth), so it was SO fun to see how much they have changed. They are talking, laughing, running and dancing all over.
One of my favorite parts of visiting is getting the kids dressed, doing hair, etc :) I love it. I realize more and more that I will be sad if I never have a girl...but only time will tell.
Ready for church the first Sunday I was there...

The entire Schiebel clan was in need of new clothes, so we did some awesome shopping for both Karrie and the kids...I made sure we went in the beginning of my visit so I would get to dress them in new clothes for the week.
The day I got there, Karrie and Al had to run out for an hour, so I cuddled up on the couch with all 3 of them and watched Madagascar :)
The kids were due for their first dental exam, so we practiced saying "awhhh" so they were ready for Grant's arrival. They loved it :)
The weather was beautiful and it is amazing how entertained kids are outside (even without toys or food), so we spent some quality time out on the deck...
On Friday, Grant had arrived and we decided to go play at gymnastics. I think I had as much or more fun than the kids :)

Looks like Allie was caught by the paparazzi on the way out of the gym
Group shot (in the window) at Cafe Gouda (one of my favorite local places) after the gym...so delicious and the kids loved it too.

I decided I needed a little spring break pampering...so Karrie and I headed to the nail salon while the kids napped (and Grant stayed home with them)
And the guys grilled up some amazing steaks and made a full delicious dinner that night. Yum!
Saturday was St. Patrick's Day, and I have to admit I was a little bit excited to "celebrate" with everyone. We had cinnamon rolls with green frosting, green rice krispy treats, green jello (kids first experience with jello, they weren't quite sure what to think but liked it).  For breakfast we also enjoyed a giant emu egg (because it was green). One egg made TONS of scrambled eggs. The guys decided to blow it out so the shell could remain intact.
Jordan sporting his green shirt, praying over green jello...precious.
And since mom and Taryn had pink toes, we thought the little girls would love it too. Madi's favorite thing in the world is anything pink. She pointed to each of my toes and said "pink, pink, pink..." They sat mesmerized while we painted.
Watching Madi get her's painted made Allie really excited too...
Sunday we went to church with them and then made the journey home...

I miss them all already!

  1. Looks like lots of fun! In reply to your comment I use either frametastic or diptic for my photo collages. I also just found this other one called photo collage (by big blue chip) which seems cool but I haven't used it much
