Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day! Valentine's Day here was low key but wonderful. Grant planned our date (I told him I didn't want anything elaborate, but he was in charge of finding a babysitter and picking a place). I decided that for Rowan's first Valentine's Day we needed to do a little crafting, so we made this cute sign for Grant and I wrote his card on the back of it. Figured we could use it as decoration for V-days to come. It was not easy to get hand and footprints by an 8-month old when I was doing it alone, so even though it's not perfect, I definitely count it a success!
I found this shirt in his drawer that someone had given me before he was born and decided it was a good Valentine's Day outfit. Love this kid!

I told Grant I didn't want flowers because we already had a vase full of them and I decided I'd rather him buy me flowers another time, but the smart guy that he is, still bought me a rose so he didn't come home from work empty handed..it was perfect. Rowan loved smelling it!
Our awesome neighbors were not celebrating Valentine's Day until Saturday so agreed to watch Rowan for us so we could have a child free night. It was our first date without Rowan is quite awhile. It was nice to be able to eat without entertaining him, but we are lucky because he's a pretty good kid most of the time, so I didn't feel like we were dying for a night alone. However, I still think it was good for us. Apparently Rowan decided that he doesn't like being away from us as much as he used to and did some crying and crawling to the door while we were away. Sorry Kyle and Alli!
We went to Cafe Doka Doka. We had been there once before and we loved the view, the building and the pizza. Grant joked that he reserved the entire restaurant for us because we were the only ones there. We had the awesome beautiful restaurant and view all to ourselves. It was so peaceful and enjoyable. This restaurant doubles as a pottery studio and they serve all their food in the pottery and also have it for sale. We bought the cute round piece in this photo and a small vase as a thank you for our "babysitters" :)

So grateful to have these two wonderful boys in my life. I am so blessed to have Grant as my long time and forever Valentine, I couldn't ask for a better husband. Love to all of you too!
