Moon Beach Resort

One great thing about being stationed with the Marines is the fact that they take 4-day weekends instead of 3 days for holidays. So even though I worked Saturday and Sunday, we both had Monday and Tuesday off and we were going to pack an entire 96 worth of fun into those 48 hours :) So, Tuesday morning we decided to check out a local resort just about 15 minutes from our house. You pay $5 per person to play there for the day (grounds, pool and beach). It was a cheap way to escape and was a ton of fun!

As you come inside, there are beautiful hanging vines with a pond and these big funny shisa dogs to greet us. Rowan of course yelled "dog" and had fun talking to them :)

There were a few cute shops and a little art gallery that we strolled through.

 The grounds were beautiful and felt very Hawaii like, which we really loved. It smelled good, there was Hawaiian music playing throughout and the colors and foliage were gorgeous.

 We decided to eat lunch at the buffet which was actually surprisingly delicious. I'd like to go back some time and get the full menu, but we got the small buffet which was just salad bar and fruit but was SO good. Fruit here is expensive, so pretty sure I ate my $12 just in fruit :)

After lunch we hit the pool! Rowan loved emptying the pool with his bucket :)

 

Finally, to round out the day, we headed down to the beach. It had beautiful sand and was roped off and well taken care of. It was a bit more crowded than other beaches on the island, but still had plenty of room for us to stretch out and play around.

We truly did pack in a lot of fun to these 2 days off! We were worn out but had a great time together :)
