HAPPY
HALLOWEEN from Max and the Wild Thing! We decided that Where the Wild
Things are would be a fun and adorable theme for Halloween this year.
Rowan was really excited about it and wanted Boden to be Max and he
wanted to be a wild thing. I looked at a few tutorials on making
costumes but in the end I found these adorable costumes online and then
added some finishing touches to them instead.
We
did a morning little trick or treat at Stroller Strides which was fun
(the kids wore old costumes-a fireman and dinosaur so they didn't get
these dirty).
And then after naps, we
got dressed in their costumes, went to Chipotle for Booritos ($3) and
then trick or treated our neighborhood with the Finlaysons!
Picture overload because I couldn't pick just a few, they are so cute!
Max leading the Wild Thing
I made t-shirts with quotes from the book for Grant and I to wear. It was a perfect easy way to fit into the theme.
We
weren't sure if trick or treating in our neighborhood would be good but
the neighbors said that the street down the hill from us was usually
pretty good, and there were lots of people with decorations so we
decided to check it out! We loved having the Finlaysons join us too!
Rowan
was hesitant at first (maybe because we started at the scariest house
on the street (he sat down and would not go to the door he was so
scared, wouldn't even let me carry him). After that he warmed up a
little and by the end he was running door to door and loved it!
It
was so fun to see the little guys out trick or treating on this perfect
fall night! Boden was hilarious and would grab candy out of people's
bowls while they were putting candy in his bucket :) Everyone thought he
was too cute so just let him have whatever he grabbed though! Happy
Halloween!
