For any of you who don't know or haven't heard... we just moved to Lexington, KY for Grant to attend dental school at the University of Kentucky. We bought a house and have spent the last 2 weeks remodeling the living room. We have several projects to go but we are very pleased with the outcome thus far. Enjoy! :)

The listing pictures from the ad for the house. Yes we still bought it faux stone wall and all.

Check out that UK Wildcat blue wall!

Nasty carpet... we're not quite sure what those stains are. eewww. The green rug hid that well.

Demolition day #1. This was the 2nd day that we lived there. We couldn't handle the stone much longer. Thanks for the help Ron and Tammy :)

Tearing down the dry wall so we could put it back up.. (not as fun as it sounds!)

Vacuuming :)

Drywall hauler, welcome to Kentucky, redneck style (but a little nicer)

New insulation "Cutest insulation installer ever." -Grant

New drywall

Playing with the mud

Need I say more...

Let it be white... after "we was done" primering it.

Spreadin' the diarrhea

Wearing a mask to protect us from whatever has gone on under or on that nasty carpet.

...and it's finally gone.

Grant playing with his new toy.

Bamboo flooring... Go green! My hippie friends would be proud :) Go Davis!

Boxes and boxes to ensure the "random" effect.

Enjoy the first year of dental school, it only gets worse! :) well it's not really that bad, but it does get more stressful. We've only got one more year thank goodness! I can't wait. I'm so glad you started a blog, love it!
ReplyDeleteYou guys are so talented! It took us 2 weeks just to unpack our suitcases much less remodle a house in less time. I love it. We just signed the papers and will be building our house, and we have to decide on all of the tile, counters, etc in the next few weeks so I will be coming to you for advice!!

ReplyDeleteAre you guys for hire?! This is incredible! I am so impressed. That doesn't exactly look like your average dental school couple's place. And it makes for a great way to start your blog! I am completely blog-addicted and will be checking in on you guys from now on. You can see us (okay, mostly Ethan & Luke) at bollardfamily.blogspot.com.
