I just returned from my shortest trip ever to California...but I have to say, those 40 hours spent there were well worth it! One of my best friends Rachel (we grew up together since about the age of 3) got married this weekend in Berkeley. This upcoming week is going to be a pretty terrible one at school, so I was hesitant to buy a plane ticket to go out and attend the wedding, but a few weeks ago I decided this was something I just couldn't miss. I will take plenty more tests and will not remember the one I have tomorrow a year from now, but this was my only opportunity to attend "my best friend's wedding."
Immediately upon arriving in Sacramento, we picked up my dad at work, did a little shopping (I still didn't have a dress I wanted to wear), and then headed home so I could get ready and take off to the rehearsal dinner. It was an amazing meal with good company. I hadn't seen Rachel in way too long (and had yet to meet Lee) so it was good to catch up and see them before the craziness of the next day. I loved getting to hang out with Maggie and Elizabeth as well (Rachel's sisters).

After the dinner we went up and hung out in their awesome hotel suite (at the Claremont where the wedding took place), and then I drove home since I had at that point been awake for 24 hours!

The next morning, my parents drove up with me to attend the wedding, and we enjoyed the perfect weather and amazing views of the city. It was so clear and warm, they couldn't have picked a better November day.

My cute parents before the ceremony.

After the ceremony, we enjoyed drinks and appetizers and then an awesome meal followed by dancing. Had to get a picture of the cake of course, it was beautiful...

The new bride!

And then a gorgeous view as the reception came to an end. The sun setting and a view of the golden gate bridge...loved it!

I am so glad that I made the decision to go to the wedding and share in this special occasion! It was definitely a weekend to remember.

Congrats Rachel and Lee...we love you :)
Fun! I wish I could have made it. You guys all look amazing by the way. Kars and I were looking at pictures talking about how great you looked. I liked your dress and curls. And great picture of Mom and Dad. Also, I get to see you in just over a month!
ReplyDeleteI glad that you made the decision to come, I know that you will never regret it. It was fun to be with you and visit with the Bertolanis. See you again in one month.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you spent all that time on a plane for such a short visit, but I think going to a good friend's wedding (especially if you get to see family too) is worth it. Not to mention you got a cute dress out of it! All good things! You look great in the pictures. Are you guys spending Christmas in Davis this year?
