UK Basketball- GO CATS

When we found out we would be moving to California, we realized there were still some Kentucky things we needed to do before leaving (a Lexington bucket list of sorts). I feel like we have enjoyed a lot of what Kentucky has to offer, but one thing was definitely lacking...UK BASKETBALL! It is the religion of Lexington (and most of Kentucky) and we had not yet been to a game (or even inside Rupp Arena).

Last week Travis got a hold of an extra ticket and invited Grant to go to the Florida game with him. I had to work late that day, so it worked out well for him to be able to go! They stood in the "Eruption Zone" and had awesome seats. UK killed Florida and he said it was a really fun game to watch!
Coach Cal (a local legend)...he is seriously on every other commercial on TV promoting something, i.e. Ball Homes, Nurses Registry, etc. So random, but proof that people are obsessed!

New hard core fan :)
Getting tickets to a game is not the easiest thing (part of the reason we hadn't been yet). And although Grant had been to a game already, I still wanted to go. So, we applied (AGAIN) for the online lottery and finally got picked this round! After the online lottery, we had to go to Memorial Colosseum last night for the live lottery. They pass out numbers in groups of 100 and then we sit and wait for our turn to buy tickets. There has got to be a better way to do it, but we felt like going through this was just part of the experience :) So, we headed downtown around 8:30 pm and got home around 11pm. Our number was picked 16th..so we had to wait for 1500 people to buy tickets before us! However, we were successful and ended up with tickets for the next 3 home games!
