Friday night, we had the Dental senior awards banquet. It was out at Fasig Tipton horse auction grounds which was gorgeous! (unfortunately totally failed at getting any pictures :( It was a fancy dinner with hor d'oeuvres and drinks followed by an enormous buffet with way too many options.
Most members of Grant's class and a majority of his professors were there, and it was really fun to hang out with everyone now that boards are over and the end is in sight! Again, I wish I had gotten many more pictures with everyone, but here are a few cute ones...

After dinner was the awards portion of the evening. Grant did not expect or think that he would get anything, but was honored to receive 2 awards (a UK prosthodontics award and a national oral and maxillofacial radiology award). After awards were handed out they emphasized that the most important award of all would be given to all of them next weekend, that of DMD. SO exciting! I'm so proud of Grant's hard work over these past 4 years (and really 8 years leading up to it). After the awards, some members of the class had put together some hilarious videos, etc that roasted some professors, made fun of some student quirks, etc. I am glad that I have been so involved in Grant's class and education as I was able to appreciate most everything about this portion. They did a fantastic job!
More special events to come this week...hoping I didn't pack anything that I'll want/need. Luckily we have moved somewhere with a full length mirror again. It was really hard to get ready (especially for a dressy event) without a full length mirror (never realized how much I used it!)

We STILL don't have a full-length mirror in our apartment and it is the most annoying thing in the world! (And has resulted in some unfortunate outfit choices for me. Now I shower at work and use the gym's full-length mirror).
ReplyDeleteCONGRATS to you both! We'll definitely come visit you in your beach digs; Jason says the place is gorgeous! You should send me a link, probably.
Congrats!!! So happy that all the years of hard work are paying off.
