As I mentioned before, Grant and I both had a few days off last week, so we decided to spend some time enjoying the Kentucky outdoors before we move and also get a little exercise. And of course...Grant wanted to practice and play with some of his new photography stuff :) These are all at Raven Run, which is a nature sanctuary about 15 miles from our house. The drive itself out there is pretty beautiful through a bunch of horse farms.
These 2 pictures are with a super dark filter over the lens, which allows you to keep the shutter open a lot longer which shows allows for the softness in the movement of the water. I thought they turned out really pretty! We were practicing for our upcoming trip to Hawaii where we hope to see many more, and much bigger waterfalls :)
After the water parts of the hike, we found ourselves in a field of wildflowers which was really beautiful. It was supposed to be the "hardest trail of the hike" but in reality was a stroll through a field of wildflowers :) Nice surprise.
I really wish we lived closer because I would love to play around with cameras with you guys! I am intrigued by the dark filter! I have questions! Is it just like the regular filters you put on the front of the camera? And is the effect different than slowing down the shutter speed? haha your pics turned out awesome and that looks so beautiful there!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Take me with you to Hawaii!!
