Beginning to almost end...

I still remember this day clearly...
The Schiebels were in town and I had gone to the zoo with them in the morning. We had a great day, I felt normal, and hadn't even really thought about the fact that I was 5 days late (because I had taken a pregnancy test about 6 days prior which had been negative so I assumed that it wasn't happening this month). They were a good distraction that week from really thinking about it again. Late in the afternoon, I headed home and texted Grant saying, "I don't know what's up. I don't really feel sick, but I also don't feel totally normal. I'm going to take a bath and hope I feel better by the time you get home." It wasn't a nauseous feeling, just an overall achiness (like you get when you're getting sick).  However, before getting in the bath I decided I would pee on a stick (why not, right?!) And that's the moment that changed our lives forever (or at least the moment we realized it was changed). I sat it on the side of the tub, fully intending it to be negative, and looked down a minute later and freaked out just a little bit. What had we gotten ourselves into?! Grant was due to be home in a couple hours, so I didn't mention anything via text, etc. I decided to wrap it up in a gift bag and when he got home, I mentioned that I had bought him a little something at the zoo since he didn't get to go with us. He was super confused when he opened it and asked a few times, "Is this for real?!" And it was.... (this all went down at 4 weeks and 5 days)

And here we are now at 40 weeks! I can hardly believe it. There was an episode of the Big Bang Theory a couple of weeks ago where it explored Sheldon's need for closure. I think there is a little bit of me that enjoys closure as well, and for that reason alone, I was sort of excited to get to take a "40 weeks" picture (although I wouldn't have been at all disappointed if I were posting a pic of a cute little baby right now instead ;)
My due date has obviously come and gone...now we are really ready to meet this little guy!!! Headed to the OB in the morning, we'll see what she has to say :)
