A couple weeks ago, Grant's command took a Friday off to party at the beach! Although it is "mandatory fun", I still love that they have events that families can attend and spend time together during a time that Grant would otherwise be at work. They had a huge castle bounce house (which Rowan saw immediately as we pulled into the parking lot and yelled, "temple!") He bounced in it for a little while, then played with some water balloons and finally we spent the rest of the day at the beach :) The water is perfect right now and although a little choppy, we still had fun on our paddle boards.
In an effort to clean off a little bit, we had Rowan run through the splash pad and he had a great time. It was sort of hilarious. I think he had hit a super tired stage but instead of being fussy, he was just funny and crazy :)
And finally, we did a little photo shoot at the end while we all got cleaned up. Cute kid! Boden did so well all day too. He slept in his carseat for most of the morning and then was so content the rest of the day playing with us and even spent some time in the water.
