Soccer!

Although seemingly totally ridiculous, I decided to sign Rowan up for 2-year-old soccer for the month of September. Joey signed up with him and we thought if nothing else it was an excuse to get together each weekend. I was right that it was totally ridiculous, but it was actually the cutest thing ever too. When you ask Rowan the rules of soccer he says, "kick ball, no hands"! It's pretty cute. I know I'm biased, but he was actually pretty good. We wished we had lied and signed him and Joe up for the 3-year-old group because the 2-year-olds seemed like babies compared to them. It was still a lot of fun. They didn't play games or anything, just a few drills (only some of them even with a soccer ball). I don't think we'll necessarily sign him up again but I'm glad we did it once to get him excited about soccer. We now play outside kicking back and forth. I love it.
(Yes, he's wearing swim trunks as athletic shorts and Toms as footwear :) I realized he only has flip flops and Toms and didn't want to buy him something he'd grow out of before he'd really get any use out of!
He loved the obstacle course, especially jumping through the hoops. (He LOVES to jump).

I think the 25 minute practice was equal parts soccer and water breaks. I know it's not, but they weren't working out that hard :)
Coach Jordan. Love that it looks like they're making a play here.
Rowan has his eye on that kid!
"baby kick, baby kick, big kick!" This is how I tried to teach him to dribble
Boden was a fabulous spectator, all smiles!
And just because, we did our own little photo shoot at the end :)
Serious follow through. This was definitely a "big kick!"
Best buds :)
