Easter Sunday is a special day. As I start to raise children, I am trying to find a balance between the fun part of a holiday and then making sure we celebrate and they learn about the true meaning of a holiday. I think I may adopt the tradition of doing the easter bunny on Saturday so we can focus Sunday more on the Savior. Anyways, this year we did it all on Sunday and it worked great!
The Easter bunny came!
Baby's 1st Easter!
Thanks for the cards and presents Mimi and Papa
We enjoyed a wonderful Easter Sunday at church. I actually think it was the first Easter Sunday I've been able to attend church in Okinawa, I'm pretty sure I worked the last 2 years :( So nice to spend the day with my family instead! Back in our dating days, Grant and I had a bishop who on Easter Sunday had EVERYONE prepare a talk on the atonement and didn't say who he would have speak that day. I contemplated the atonement a lot that week and think of it often around Easter, still now, 12 years later. I had always thought about Easter as celebrating the resurrection but didn't focus much on the atonement (even though they're very clearly connected) until then.
Before church...this is as good as it got :)
And then they got naps and we went to the beach and they were slightly more cooperative :)
And then we enjoyed a delicious dinner with good friends...it's nice to have traditional meals to make once in awhile.
HAPPY EASTER!
