Cherry blossoms!

Friday we made plans to meet Rhonda and Ethan in DC to check out the cherry blossoms. It is one of my favorite times of the year in DC and even though we are hoping to go again this week with Grant, I jumped at the chance to go on a weekday before peak. That morning Boden prayed "please bless the cherry blossoms to be super duper pretty." I was feeling pretty good about the fact that my 3 year old was super excited to go walk around and look at flowers :)
After we dropped Rowan off at school, we hopped on the metro and went downtown.
We had a snack while we waited for them by the Smithsonian stop. Boden told me, without me even telling or asking him, that he was going to do super good smiles today...and also thought that if he did that he might get ice cream :) I wasn't going to argue with that!
Without even realizing it, they were so color coordinated!
We met up with Rhonda and Ethan and then headed over to the Tidal Basin.
A picture of all of our crazy. Love living near Rhonda again (even though we're still 45 mins away and it's only for a year before we will live on opposite sides of the world again).
Cheesing it like crazy. I love those dimples. Besides kicking a little more dirt than I would have liked, he did a really good job! I had the idea to write my phone number in his arm just before we left and I think the fact that I did that kind of scared him to think about getting lost, so he did a great job staying with me.
Cherry blossoms with the monuments really are gorgeous
These cuties are 2 weeks apart and it was fun to see them interact. Dylan kept hitting Ethan to get his attention and show him things. It was pretty funny.
Bubbles and snack break!
And look at that adorable 23 week twin belly! She's so cute and I was glad we could snap this awesome blossom bump shot. Wish we could have taken a pic with the kids but they were finally sitting calmly in their strollers so we didn't want to mess with a good thing.
Then we headed over by Metro Station, ate at Shake Shack (which took a ridiculous amount of time and they got my order wrong, but it was ok). We managed to snag a table outside which made it much better. The weather was perfect, high 60s with no wind. Then we jumped back on the metro just in time to pick up Rowan from school.
