Since the days of junior high and getting Jamba Juice and bagels after school, I have always loved smoothies. However, if I were to eat a Jamba Juice and a bagel everyday now, I would be fat. Unfortunately I don't work out for 4 hours a day like I did back then, but I have found a solution to making my own, super easy, tasty, and low-cal smoothies at home.
A couple of months ago at Costco, Karrie bought these Yoplait ready-to-make frozen smoothie packets. They were low cal and super easy to make as you just add milk and blend. Since I wasn't going to Costco any time soon, I decided to improvise and make my own!

I bought a big container of low fat vanilla yogurt and froze it in ice cube trays. Once they were completely frozen, I popped them out and am just storing them in the freezer in a big Ziploc bag.

Then I just bought a bag of mixed frozen fruit, whatever you like. For 2 servings, combine 3 yogurt cubes, about a cup or so of fruit and then pour in 1-1.5 cups of milk. You'll want to add a little bit of sugar (to taste) and blend.

So, I made it that way a few times, thoroughly enjoyed them, but the other day had another idea. I bought a case of vanilla soymilk at Costco for food storage (since it doesn't have to be refrigerated til open) awhile back and it expires in December. I like it ok in my cereal but don't love drinking it so decided to try it in my smoothie. I did half regular milk and half soymilk and it turned out awesome! Didn't even have to add sugar because of the sweetness of the vanilla. Try it out.

Here it is, ready to enjoy! LOVE IT!
what a great idea!
