100 gram packs
I have a bit of a candy addiction. I avoid buying large bags of it because I end up eating it all, much faster than I want to. However, the big bags of Skittles have been on sale, buy 1 get 1 free, for weeks now at Kroger, taunting me as I walk in the front door. Yesterday I caved, but only with the help of Grant. He agreed to ration them... and thus was born, the "100 gram pack."
I thought it was kind of weird when Grant wanted a food scale for Christmas last year, but it has come in handy more than a couple of times. This was one of those times.
Before starting nursing school I am required to get a CNA certification, so this month, 3 nights a week I have class from 5-9 pm. It can get a bit boring so I took one of my skittle packs last night and it made the time pass faster! And, I was proud of myself because even though I ate the whole bag (again, if it's there, I'll eat it), I came home and decreased the bags to 65 g packs (the size of a individual pack from the store)!
And now I'm not tempted to spend $ at our breaks, like everyone else in the class! My skittles keep me awake instead of a tall coffee AND a double shot Starbucks Espresso in a can... (yeah, that's what one girl HAD to buy yesterday because she was SO tired).
PS- I would recommend the new Skittle flavors- forget what they're called, different color outside than inside. Very tasty!

Very nice. I think the new Skittles are called crazy cores and they are tasty. I really like the picture by the way!
ReplyDeleteI am running a half marathon with a few ladies in my ward on Halloween. What do you say? Are you up for another one?
ReplyDeleteI don't know if I have enough self control to stick to just one little bag :).
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! I should do that, but make them into the 100 calorie snack bags. Great thinking!
ReplyDeleteBRILLIANT! I could have used a system like this last weekend to help me deal with cookie addiction.
ReplyDeleteWe are running in Eaton, OH. We really don't know anything about this place other than they are having a half marathon with only 1000 racers allowed and it is 2 hours away. It's the Preble county half marathon. There are 6 of us from my ward that are running it. So far it has been fun but the longest we have done so far is 6 miles.
ReplyDeleteWhat a splendid idea.
ReplyDeleteThat is an awesome idea! So you have to take a CNA class? That's actually a good idea. Even though it all seems like common sense stuff. it helps you be more understanding for what CNA's have to do...some nurses think that they never have to make a bed or change a patient just because there are CNA's. When do you start school? I am so excited for you and excited to hear about it.
