How to keep from eating and sleeping...

Well Sunday afternoon, Grant and I had eaten lunch, but were still hungry, and had slept well the night before, but were still tired. So instead of giving in to eating (making us fat) and sleeping (making us lazy) we decided to go for a drive/ride, and a walk. We see plenty of our neighborhood with running, etc. so we decided to go to Keeneland and just walk around for awhile. I didn't realize it would even be open, but it was, and it was kind of fun to be there with very few other people since it's usually packed with people. We walked around inside and out for about an hour, and took some pics.
The jockeys...these statues also make appearances in front yards all over Lexington :)
But I don't need one, because my little guy lives inside :) The Keeneland bushes, which I have never seen before since I've never made it up in the stands during the races.
The empty stands...almost more impressive looking when they're empty.
The track...wished there had been some horses, but it was perfectly groomed like I've never seen before.
The view from a parking lot outside that we had never had access to before. Seems like a fun place to watch, but not sure you can get there on race day. We'll have to check it out.
On the way out, there's a good view of the airport, that has this huge mural painted on the outside wall.
And when we were done walking, we took the long way home on the scooter. It was 80 degrees and beautiful, so we spent some time outside for awhile.
And we drove by A LOT of horses :) I guess that is the benefit to living in the horse capitol of the world.
And next there were some kids...
And then I met some really friendly horses...loved it :)
So cute! It's baby season...they were everywhere!
And the greatest story (not great for me) took place right near this yard (which Grant admires every time we drive by. I think it is part of his dream yard one day! But back to my story... while going about 50 mph, I felt a bug hit my face, ouch! But I got over it and the sting went away really fast. However, a couple minutes later, I felt like there was something in my shirt. It stung a little, etc, but as many times as I tried, couldn't find anything in there! But we pulled over to take this picture and I pulled my shirt up and out flew a bee-like insect, capable of stinging my boob 4 times!!!)
Well we are very excited that spring/summer is in the air, and we hope to make the most of our non-studying time together!
