Okuma resort

On Friday, Grant's clinic was rewarded for meeting their goal for dental readiness and took the day off to go to Okuma which is a military owned resort about an hour north of us on the west coast. It was kind of funny because all of the dentists who worked at the clinic and met this goal were on leave, so Grant and the other 2 newcomers were the only dentists that attended (besides the clinic director). I'm not going to complain though. I got to spend a workday at the beach with my husband, loved it!

It was gorgeous. Definitely felt a little like Hawaii...sort of a fun realization that this is our home for the next 3 years. It's gorgeous :)

We ate lunch at a restaurant just down from where we were camped out and as we walked in, realized my baby was a rebel without any shirt or shoes. He was wearing a rash guard earlier, but thought it was a little too hot for that when we were just walking around. (On a side note, he LOVES the Baby Bjorn and I am so happy about it since he hates the ergo and being in his carseat). We can walk around with a happy baby again!

After lunch, we did a little exploring and walked around checking out the tide pools, pretty water, etc. We are currently on the edge of a tropical storm so the water was a little rough and not as clear as normal but still a beautiful color. The water color is one of my favorite things about the ocean here (I also love the fact that it's so warm :)

Rowan just fell asleep as we walked around. Seriously, like I said, the Bjorn has been a lifesaver. We all love it :)

We walked around to this cool arch and behind it was an island that the boys walked to. The girls stayed on the other side...2 pregnant girls and me with a newborn tied to my chest, didn't want to risk it. They saw a ton of awesome turquoise fish and found some cool shells (Grant found a small abalone and some other fun new ones)

Love this little family of mine and the "adventure" that we are on. Rowan HATES the car and screams every time we drive (unless he is asleep or we are driving over 60 mph-which rarely happens here), so Grant always gives him a little pep talk and tells him we're "going on an adventure!" And the fun thing is, with how new everything still is, it's true that every day is a new adventure and I'm grateful to be going through it with my 2 favorite boys :)
