Fantastic Fourteen

Another fantastic month has flown by! Rowan continues to develop rapidly and pick up new skills on a daily basis. I'm always amazed when there's something I think he can't do, and then all of a sudden the next day he is totally proficient in it (ex. walking his toy dog. He used to just drag it and pick it up and then the other day figured out how it's supposed to work and has been walking it all around the house!)
Our little beach bum continues to love sand and water. He rarely eats sand anymore, but it ends up ALL over him :) Such a cutie. He has very little fear of the water and will sit and play in it without a problem, but does not like the feeling of floating on his back. He's loves holding starfish and will point out fish in the water he sees swimming by.

Starting to interact with other kids which is really fun and cute to watch. I'm not sure I'm ready for him to grow up and really deal with the drama of friendships and relationships though. If anyone is ever mean to this little boy I'm going to have a seriously hard time!
Got a new carseat! And is LOVING forward facing. Can't believe what a difference it has made in our car trips. And he has no reason to complain, he is entirely encased in memory foam with this thing!
He got A LOT of teeth this month and it hit him pretty hard. He know has 11 teeth, including 3 molars which decided to erupt pretty much at the same time leaving him quite unhappy for a few days.  He also got really sick one day, a 103 fever that would not go down much even with Tylenol. I called the pediatrician who wanted him to come in to be seen and get lab work. Shots are sad, but having to hold him down to get blood drawn was even worse :( Good news, nothing was really wrong (we still don't know what caused it), but he's back to his normal self. It was a cuddly but sad couple days.
He loves blowing on things...hot food, bubbles, and now the harmonica. It was so cute when he finally made a noise, I think it shocked him, and then he didn't want it to stop.
He is a BUSY body and loves to sweep with our little broom. Whenever i need him entertained for a few minutes, this will generally do the trick :)
Love, love, love this happy little guy.
A few more things about Rowan this month:
-Whenever music comes on, he will bounce his entire right arm up and down with a lot of enthusiasm. He doesn't dance quite as much as he used to, but really gets into this arm bob.
-Favorite foods include: shredded mini wheats, string cheese, cottage cheese, every kind of fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, multi-grain bread, cooked frozen vegetables. Overall, he's still a good little eater. We have fully transitioned to the sippy cup for milk and his Camel-bak water bottle for water
-throws a fit when we brush his teeth
-Gets SO sad when we tell him no. Fully equipped with the hugest pouty lip ever
-has started thinking things are really funny and laughing hysterically, including when he burps, which in turn I think his hilarious :)
-shakes his head no a lot. I think we are going to have a strong willed little toddler on our hands, I'm a bit nervous
-has finally figured out how to sign "all done" after working on it for months! Now I wish I had taught him a few more signs.
-has mastered throwing a ball with both hands and is learning to kick/dribble a ball. He's a pretty coordinated little guy
-Loves having Alexa back. I'm so grateful to have her. She loves him, he loves her, its a mutually beneficial relationship...and makes it a tad bit easier on days I have to work
-Still takes 2 naps most days but can survive on one long one
-Goes to bed around 8 and wakes up around 5:30-6 (a little earlier than I'd like, but I enjoy seeing him before I leave for work)
-Has started hugging and cuddling with stuffed animals, it is adorable
-Loves looking at animals, especially dogs and cats that walk by. Thanks so Alexa he is pretty comfortable around dogs too which I am glad since he's not getting any exposure at our house ;)
-Super comfortable on his feet, can run, walk, almost jump even. Goes up and down stairs with ease, climbs on furniture.
-Still waiting for him to really start talking. He says a lot, but I'm can't definitely say that he has spoken his first "word". Nothing is really consistent enough.
I don't know how we got so lucky to have this good/adorable little guy.  He's the best :)
