In driving around since we moved here, we have noticed several tiny gorgeous chapels along the coasts. Apparently this is a destination wedding site for many Japanese, and the views and architecture of these buildings do not disappoint.
One of the corpsmen at Grant's clinic got married a few weeks ago. We were excited to go support him on his big day (especially since he didn't have any family there, etc), but I was also pretty excited when I learned it was at one of these beautiful chapels!
I was surprised when I found out where it was because we had been to the beach there several times and I had never noticed a chapel. Even when we arrived, we couldn't find it initially. That was because it was on the 14th floor of a hotel! And this is what it looked like...

Although it was warm, it was a gorgeous day! The wedding took place inside, but the view from in there was also magnificent. The bride was half American, half Japanese, but most of her family there was Japanese, so the ceremony was said in both English and Japanese. They wrote their own vows which were very cute, and it was a fun day to be a part of. Unfortunately, we weren't allowed to take pics during the ceremony :(
This was the aisle...a little scary to stand on, felt like it would fall through but it was a fun effect.
After the ceremony, we picked up Rowan and headed to the reception which was on base at the Ocean Breeze. They had a really cute beach themed set-up with a candy bar, cupcakes and ocean colored decor. The food was delicious and we had a good time. Rowan wanted a sip of the Martinelli's, but realized quickly that he didn't like it. I guess it was a little too bubbly :)
Check out his adorable little suit!
To top off the fun, they had a photo booth with props. Rowan loved and hated it :) We had fun dressing him up of course!
After they took the pics, they printed these for us to take home.
Congrats to Brad and Vikki...they are off to their new adventure and we wish them the best!
