Deck the Halls

We try to keep with tradition, so the day after Thanksgiving, we headed out to find a Christmas tree! There was a part of me that wanted a more traditional tree this year, but when I found out that the bases weren't getting any real trees at all, we opted to go with the tropical theme again, and I'm quite happy with how it turned out. I decided we should get something small enough to fit on a side table to avoid it being at Rowan's height.
It turned out beautifully! Rowan is intrigued by it but surprisingly doesn't really try to touch it at all! So perfect! Weird to think that last year at this time he was learning to crawl so I had to keep him away from the presents under the tree ;)
He got excited about some of our cute ornaments and loved "helping". He even put up with me sticking a santa hat on him for a little while. We've got a keeper :)
I love decorating, makes it finally feel like Christmas since not much else about being here feels like it ;)
I won't complain though, I don't mind the warm winters. I grew up doing Christmas in San Diego every year and there's something pretty awesome about getting to go outside and ride your new bike that Santa brought in the warm sunshine.
