ALOHA!

The last two days flew by. Friday I had my ultrasound. Baby looked perfect, was a healthy 1 lb 8 oz and is still definitely a boy :) I wasn't really too concerned about this scan because the one I had done before was completely normal, but it's still always nice to have reassurance that things look good.

In the late afternoon we headed to the beach and dinner. Snapped some cute shots of this little guy in his Hawaiian shirt. We got a lot of compliments on it. Funny thing is it's just a Quiksilver shirt that  he already had, it just happened to work perfect for Hawaii.

On our way to PF Changs where Rowan devoured some rice and shrimp...his favorite foods :)
Learning to climb the coconut tree
This was probably my favorite part of the night. He loved the music everywhere in the streets and was doing the CUTEST dance ever!
Saturday we knew was going to be our last day, so we made the most of it! We made up our own little circle island tour and it was the perfect end to our little vacation in paradise. We started with lunch at the famous Macky's shrimp truck. We had a butter garlic shrimp plate and it was delicious!
And you can guess what we did next...
We did a little beach hopping and enjoyed a beautiful drive and then stopped at China Man's hat beach to play for the afternoon. Grant got this awesome shot of the mountains behind us...we kept commenting on how beautiful the mountains there were. Gorgeous.
And for all those of you who knew me in high school, know that I was a bit of a flip flop photographer :) So, I decided to take this one for old times' sake. They are Rowan's new "slippers" and I LOVE them. He enjoys wearing them (and they must be squishy because he loves to dance in them :) and I think they are adorable.
And then we just played and played and played...the perfect afternoon.
We saved Cheeseburger in Paradise for our last night and it did not disappoint. I have a new favorite burger, the blue banana, which had blue cheese, banana peppers and guacamole. It was amazing! We did a little more walking around enjoying the evening and then headed back to the hotel to back and prepare for our long day of travel back.
The flight home was LONG...it is crazy to me that just because of the wind/jet stream, whatever it was, caused our flight between Honolulu and Tokyo to be 2.5 hours longer than going there! Rowan did really well but was just crazy. He's a big busy kid to have on your lap for 9 hours straight! He made friends with the cute old Japanese lady behind us and she made us a bunch of paper cranes. It was pretty cute. We survived though! And in some ways I'm glad that we came home a little early since we have another big trip planned in a couple weeks and I need a little downtime before another long flight :) Even though we went for not a very fun reason...I'm so grateful for the opportunity to have this getaway with my soon to be expanding. I'm cherishing all the time I have with just the 3 of us before we get even busier!
