SUP fun

The weather has been amazing recently, so we have been trying to make the most of it before it gets too crazy hot! (although water activities are the only tolerable thing when it's super hot outside). We bought another stand up paddle (SUP) board a couple months ago, and although I thought it was bad timing with having a new baby, etc. we've already gotten tons of use out of it! It's a bit wider and more stable than the other one which makes it easier to have Rowan on with us! We also thought it would be nice to have another for others to use when we're at the beach with people who don't have boards.
One day when Grant got home from work, we went for a walk to watch the "truck" (excavator on the beach fixing our seawall) and saw that the water was like glass and decided we had to get in, even though Grant had to leave for a meeting a couple hours later. It was worth it!
I came to realize what a good core workout paddling is, but I still made it work even though my abs are totally spread apart with this baby in my belly :) Rowan did great, just pointed and said "water" and "fish" about a hundred times, and watched the tractor work while we paddled by. This is one of the reasons we chose the house we're in now...we walked 10 yards and put our boards in the water, pretty awesome.
We paddled down to the beach just south of us and let Rowan play for a little bit before heading back home.
Just lounging on the front of the board :)
And then clean up time. I think he liked this as much as the actual beach time. The hose with the spray tip is probably his favorite toy ever.
Then, this weekend, we headed out to Hamahiga Island with some friends. Everyone brought their paddle boards or kayaks and we had a gorgeous beach day with delicious food and so much fun.
Grant snorkeled around with us on the board for awhile and then we all went out on the SUPs.
The water was so pretty although there wasn't a ton to see in the water.
All the girls (and Rowan)
At the end of the day, we grilled some chicken and shared a bunch of sides and ate with our hands (utensils were very scarce :) and enjoyed the beach as the sun set. It was a perfect way to end our day!
