Fallon for a funeral

Soon after moving in, we got word that Grandma Huntzinger (Grant's grandma) wasn't doing well and would probably soon pass away.  Then, only a week after we had moved into our house (and the day that we got our express shipment), we drove up to Fallon, Nevada for the funeral.  We obviously weren't excited to go for a funeral, but we were excited to get to see so much family, especially after having been so far away for 3 years. It was great timing for us in that regard. It was selfishly hard for me to leave a house full of boxes that I wanted to unpack, but it worked out well. Scott found a much cheaper ticket to LA than Reno, so we picked him up and LAX and dropped him back there on our way home. It worked out great, although I got a year's worth of car talk packed into 2 days with both of them together in the car.
On the way there, the kids did pretty well, it helped that we got a late start so they slept for the second half of the trip. These were some wonderful moments :) Honestly they did really well awake too. The way home was a little bit rougher (maybe because we had just made the 10 hour drive 2 days prior), but overall still not terrible. It was a nice way to break in the new minivan ;)
We arrived around 1am on Saturday morning. We found a great rate at the hotel on base there so booked a room there which turned out to be pretty decent. The funeral started at 9 the next morning and it was a great celebration of her life. She was a caring, wonderful, funny, creative woman and there were a lot of fun stories told about her. (Rowan took selfies during it).
We all headed to the cemetery afterwards and grabbed a few quick family shots. All of Grant's siblings were there, although we were missing a few spouses and their kids. Still so fun to see everyone.
They boys were boys and found dirt and trees to play with before we left to go back to the church.
We are grateful for a knowledge and testimony of the Plan of Salvation and have complete faith that she has been reunited with her husband and family. I am grateful to know that families are eternal. She lived a fabulous 94 years on this earth!
