A day at the beach
I LOVE the beach. I had just about convinced myself (before this trip) that I could settle somewhere besides California. It's overpriced, crowded, etc. But after this week I may have changed my mind again. I had some amazing body surfing and boogie boarding and the weather has been perfect the whole week we've been down here. All the kids here waiting to take the plunge into the ocean...and it was actually pretty warm (73 degree water) for California ocean water.
Strike a pose or laugh at us :)

Grant's sand sculpture.
My cousin Danielle and I...finally get to hang out again, it's been way too long. We had some good times swimming though and we're going back out there again today!
Warming up (I needed a sweatshirt). The burn on Grant's back did the trick for him.
Sunset. The picture obviously does not do it justice but it's pretty anyway.
And...me spreading aloe on Grant's back...he did good with the sunscreen everywhere else but for some reason didn't do his back :( sad. It's looking much better now finally though. I should have taken the picture down farther so you could compare it to the whiteness below his swimsuit line but you can just trust me...it's red!

Too fun and nice burn! I know we just got here a few weeks ago but I would love to get out of Kentucky! I need an exotic vacation somewhere! So jealous! Travis brought the keys back today. All looks well at your home. Enjoy your remaining hours in Cali, well see you Sunday.
ReplyDeleteEvery once in a while I convince myself that we don't need to end up in Cali eventually as well. All it takes is to list all of the fun things and people there, and I am back on board for the golden state. I love your bathing suit, where did you get it? We have a beach 15 min from our house here, come visit for warmer water, no sea-weed and you can even drive your car right onto the sand:) And you can collect shark teeth on the beach too.
ReplyDeleteohhh looks like you guys are having such a good time! Tell Grant not to feel bad because I went to the beach on Friday and got burned even after putting on SPF 30. Have a great rest of your trip!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy that Melly directed me to your blog. I love what you've done with your house in Lexington. You two creative people can do anything!
ReplyDeleteWhatsup guys! Found your blog through Katie & Sean Gibbs. Looks like you've had a great summer.
ReplyDeleteDon't you just love the beach? Taryn, you and your sisters all look like twins!
Hope everything is going well out in KY!
