Really long remodel post! The final product

Here are all the before and after pictures of our entire house. The first pic of each set are the pictures we took when we looked at the house (back in Feb. when the previous owner still lived here). The second pictures of the sets are ones that I took today. Enjoy! (sorry, my HGTV-like blog is coming to an end, the projects are about completed, Grant is in school and I'm working more hours.. We're on to "real" life now.) Luckily we have a house that we now love and can enjoy being in.

The Living Room- tore down the faux stone wall, painted/venetian plastered, and laid bamboo floors.
Side shot of the living room (from the entry way)

Another shot of the living room (also from the front door/entry)
Straight on view from just outside the front door. We painted and put new flooring and doors in the hallway (which is off to the left)
The kitchen. Removed wallpaper, painted, added an island and a ceiling (the floor to the loft.) Explanation and pic of that is later.
Another shot of the kitchen...And a straight on shot from the dining area.

The dining area. Painted and put in new doors (they broke when we were painting them but it turned out to be a blessing because I like the sliding door SO much better!)Another view of the dining area (couldn't wait to get rid of that UK blue wall).

A view from the top of the stairs down into the kitchen. This was probably the biggest change of all. The kitchen ceiling was vaulted, and we decided to build a floor that just goes across it to provide us with a loft upstairs. It was a genius idea I just threw out there only being half serious and Grant decided he was going to make it happen!
The master bedroom. Wallpaper removal, paint, and carpet.
Other side of the master bedroom.
What was once called the "red room" and now is the "green room". For now it is an extra guest room (with the futon), a yoga room, and a study for Grant. If we have kids while we live in this house, it will one day be the nursery. It is next to our room.Other side of the room.

The upstairs bedroom, our primary guest room (since it has a real bed). The room is huge and the closet is enormous. It won't really ever be anything more than a guest room to us but it could be an awesome kids room one day for the next owner.
And the hall bathroom...tile, paint, light fixture, mirror, etc. It made a huge difference! The landscaping and master bath have not yet been completed so those pics will have to come later but this gives you a pretty good feel for what the house is like now compared to where it was at 3 months ago.

  8. Hi Taryn! It's Laura (and Tim) those cousins that used to hang out with you..then we all sort of moved. Anyway, I found your blog! I hear you are in Kentucky (?). the house looks amazing, it'll be millenia until we can afford one here in Los Angeles.

Did you order most of the stuff from Oly or do you just have the knack for putting together what you got because it looks SO good! My blog's private, but if you send me an email I'll add you and then you guys can see what we've been up to, you know, if you wanna.
