This week Grant had some afternoons off so we got to enjoy a day at the Kentucky State Fair! Dave and Rashelle invited us to go with them and we were grateful to enjoy the "adventure."

This was the "shuttle" from our car to the entrance...some benches pulled by John Deer :)

Seeing as how it is Kentucky, there was a huge horse shoe going on, we got to see just a small portion of it.
Weird little pony event.

Pile of piglets. They were pretty cute, especially after having walked through about a million HUGE cows, sheep and pigs.

We watched a Lumber Jills show, which was totally not what I was expecting, but turned out to be pretty cool. If you didn't get it right away (and I didn't), a lumber jill is a female lumbar jack. They did events with chain saws, throwing axes, normal saws, as well as some good ol' fashioned log rolling. It was pretty entertaining.

And of course we ate some good food, saw some cool exhibits, took pictures by the fountains, etc.

In the end, we all wanted funnel cake or something sweet but opted to stop by Costco for a dollar churro and 50 cent drink instead of $5 funnel cake and $3 drink...and it was good!
Smile for the camera :)

Ok, let's try that again! (the smile feature on our new camera is pretty sweet!-I'll post more about it some other time)
AWESOME post!! I love those last two pictures of dave...hilarious!! I will have to post some of pics soon! We had fun with you guys!!
ReplyDeletethe funny pony carts are called sulkies (sp?) and they race with them. they do it that kind of racing at Cal Expo at the California State Fair. Glad you had fun.
ReplyDeletethat picture of the hotty with the ax made me think of Grant's accident with the ax.I think you was doing the same move as her when it happened, right.
