Arizona winter
Well I wasn't in my usual sunny San Diego for Christmas, but Grant's parents did move to Arizona this year, so we did get a warm and citrusy Christmas holiday. We took advantage of the warmth and the flat hills and ran each morning, checking out the neighborhoods, cacti, and my favorite, the citrus trees. At the end of each run we picked oranges or grapefruits off the trees in the common area, and ate them for an after workout snack. It was a great treat at the end of a good run.
We obviously couldn't run with as much fruit as we might have wanted, so we went back for more after our run the other day and used the sweet basket on Tamara's bike to carry some oranges :)
Grant got to do some tinkering with his dad's new Ranchero...hopefully that helped his need to work on a fun car, instead of increasing his desire to get his own (I can only dream that's the case).
For New Year's Eve, we were supposed to make party hats for the party we were going to... we got a little creative (you'll have to wait for the post to see the final projects).
Gavin was getting jealous, but there wasn't room for him to "create" with us, so I put some elastic on a scrap from Jen's hat, and I made the ugliest, yet much loved, crown.
He did not want to pose with me, so I snuck a pic with him. He is finally old enough to remember who we are, despite the fact we only get to see him about twice a year. He does usually refer to Grant as "Uncle" even though he knows his real name. It's cute.

I LOVE AZ in the winter. We were there from the 17 to the 26th and it was soooooooooooo fun. We picked so much citrus that Bryce's dad had to bring the truck to pick us up so we could get it all the Utah. An orange a day keeps the colds away! Hope ypu have room in a suitcase for some.
