Family days

We have now had visitors for 18 straight days and while I wash sheets and towels, in between cleaning bathrooms and making shopping lists, I think a few blog posts are in order to document all the fun we've been having!

Our first guests of this round were my parents. We were lucky enough to have them for Grant's birthday and then a week full of fun at the beach. The weekend they were here, we had a family get together at the beach which was so much fun...(aunt, uncle, cousins, their kids, etc) We enjoyed some amazing food, watched some Olympics, but mostly spent a lot of time on the sand and in the water.

 My uncle Randy was kind enough to loan us his surf board for a little while since he hasn't been using it much recently, and we can make good use of it living here :) Here I am the night we picked it up, ready to try it out the next morning!

 I thought this was the perfect time to start learning...I could go out in the mornings and have someone to watch me (in case I were to get hit in the head or bit by a shark or something ;) and my dad could give me a few surfing tips. I can't say that I have it mastered yet, but it was a great workout and a lot of fun. We had awesome waves and perfect weather.

I would spend the days at the beach with my parents, and the evenings in the water with Grant. Boogie boarding and surfing together is one of my favorite after work activities :)
