Last Wednesday my parents left and Tim, Tricia, Gavin and Kade rolled into town early in the afternoon. They had spent a VERY warm day at the Safari Park and were anxious for some beach breeze and hopefully cooler days at some other parks.
As I have mentioned before, it has been frustrating trying to find a job out here, but I do feel fortunate that I've been able to spend so much time with our guests and enjoy the summer at the beach. On Thursday I headed to Sea World with them for the first time in a couple of years so that was fun. It's always fun to take kids somewhere new and see their excitement. These little guys love animals and we had a great time at Sea World.
This was one of my favorite aquariums there...it looked like the ultimate snorkeling scene. Lots of turtles and beautiful tropical fish, reminded me of Maui a bit. Glad to get a picture of it since I couldn't get any underwater shots in Hawaii.
The Shamu show!!! (and I think the only family photo unfortunately). It was my first time seeing Shamu since people are not allowed in the pool with the whales, but it was still a fun show and the kids seeing them jump around. Gavin was upset because we weren't getting wet in our seats, so Tim took him up front to get splashed. He got a couple drops on his head and started heading back up. We asked why he didn't stay to get more wet and he said, "It feels like ICE!"
Although each morning was full of park adventures (Safari Park Wed, Sea World Thurs, Zoo Friday), the afternoons and weekend were full of beach time which was equally awesome! Kade was a little fish and loved the water, sand crabs and chasing the seagulls.
Gavin took a little longer to get in the water, but once he did he loved it. However, I think his true love was still collecting sand crabs in a bucket :)
Saturday morning they took us out to breakfast where we enjoyed some delicious french toast and pancakes, and then again spent the day at the beach.
Thank you guys for coming to visit, it was so fun to hang out!

What a fun time you guys had! Glad the kids loved the sand crabs. They just freaked Mat and I out! :)
