Yesterday was my first day home alone with this cool kid...
It may seem a bit extreme that he's already over a month old and I've had help this whole time, but I honestly couldn't be more grateful for the time I've had with good family and friends over the past month. The day Grant ended paternity leave, my parents arrived in Oceanside for a 3 weeks stay. With Rowan being born and Karleigh getting married down here they decided it would be easier to just stay for awhile! I, however, told them that with the craziness of the wedding and how many people would be around, etc. I didn't think I could handle having everyone at our house. So, here's where another cool part of living at the beach fits in. Our awesome neighbors Steve and Susie weren't planning to come to their condo until July this year, so next door was completely open for the month of June. We worked with them to make it possible for my family to stay there for the month.
It was great to still have our place to ourselves when we needed some time alone, etc. but everyone was right next door. They kept me fed, entertained, got me walking, etc. I couldn't have asked for a better setup. With them being here so long, they were really able to see him change a lot!
So grateful everyone in my family was able to meet/hang out with us and Rowan before we move next month!

Many of the pre-wedding days were spent getting ready for it (adding lace to Karleigh's dress, making bridesmaid skirts, etc)
Tammy and Ron were here for the craziness of the few days right before the wedding and were an awesome help!!
I got so used to them being here. I barely opened my refrigerator once in those 3 weeks. We were well taken care of and I'm so grateful for that time we had together. I had to say bye to Karleigh at her wedding and Holly on Sunday when we took them to the airport. Obviously there will be visits, etc. but we don't know when, and Japan just seems so far away. My parents are coming back for one last visit before we move next month.
Love you guys. So grateful for the opportunity that we had to be next door neighbors for the month. It truly was perfect.
And as for my first day home alone...it went really well. I did get pooped on for the first time, and Rowan didn't get to be held constantly all day everyday, but he likes his bed and my clothes can be washed. I'm grateful for such a good little baby...I think we're going to get along just fine :)

We are so grateful to have been able to come as well and it really couldn't have been a better situation with Susie and Steve's condo. We are so grateful to them. We are so happy that we have been to spend so much time with you this summer and look forward to more. Love you three kids!
