Visitor highlights

My parents flew in at night, and I worked the next day, so Grant went to pick them up and Rowan and I went to sleep. I left before they woke up the next morning, so everyone decided to come visit me at work and it was perfect! It was a holiday (which means there's less admin, etc on the floor which is nice), so we enjoyed some sandwiches together and then I continued to work while they went to play :) (Rowan showing off his new fist bump skills)
We did a lot of fun things, but some of my favorite times were just hanging around the house. Rowan definitely still knew who they were so warmed up quickly which was really cute :)
We made sure to do some good eating, and made sure they had some good Okinawan/Japanese food while they were here. One night we had dinner at Stripe, our favorite ramen place. Rowan was hilarious and definitely mastered the art of slurping noodles!
One night we even made our own! Tuna (that Grant caught) 3 ways...seared on a bed of arugula, hand rolled sushi, and tempura. It turned out delicious.

We'd been wanting to go to the Awase Fish Market for awhile now so decided this was a great opportunity. We watched them clean and filet the fish (it made Grant want some new knives since it looked much easier then the massacre that happened in our kitchen after he went fishing). It was fun to see some of the gorgeous fish they had also. We ate lunch there and enjoyed tempura shrimp and some super delicious lobster!
We are definitely beach people (my parents included), so we took every opportunity to get to the beach, although the weather wasn't always cooperative. We decided to head to sea glass beach one Sunday evening and it was beautiful! I was so glad we decided to go up. We even had a gorgeous sunset (which I actually hadn't seen in awhile)
Helping Grandma sort out the pretty glass :) He actually figured out that she just wanted sea glass and got good at picking it up.

Sunset!
And finally...we took them on our favorite little waterfall hike. Holly and Jonny enjoyed it and told them about it, so it was on their list of things to see when they came out. We wished it was a few weeks later so the cherry blossoms would be in bloom, but it was still green and gorgeous and we had a great time. It was chilly once we got down by the water, but the perfect temperature for hiking!
I am grateful my parents took the time to come visit again. It really does mean a lot for people to come see us. I know it's expensive and the 17-hour time change is no small feat to overcome. It was wonderful to be with them. They helped keep the house clean, entertain Rowan, took care of us when we all got sick (so grateful they didn't get it!), and we had an amazing time just hanging out and showing them around. Love you guys!
