Our next stop was Arizona to visit Grant's parents! We were fortunate enough to get to see both of Grant's sisters while we were there too (thanks for coming to visit!) My first order of business was getting my hair done (yes, I will travel across the world for Jen to do my hair :) I cut off probably 7-8 inches and got it colored. It feels SO good now, I love it. Grant and Mat did a lot of talking about finances which was super helpful and we had a lot of fun! Cecily brought more cousins for us to play with (Dash and Tretton) so Rowan had fun with them!
Since we don't get pumpkins here (except a couple in the commisary from time to time), I wanted to go to a pumpkin patch while we were home. So, we found this little one with a fall festival which was perfect for our age kids!
We got some energy out on this enormous jumping thing...it was huge and awesome! I want one ;)
Huge tube slide. He made Grant walk up with him but then wanted to do it "by myself" :)
Learned to milk a cow...
And ride a horse...
Duck races...
And Boden watched all the fun very patiently :)
Tractor ride. Rowan's new favorite machinery is a tractor so this was fun for him! On the train ride we rode by all the animals which was hilarious because he was yell, "Cow, MOOO! Pig, (pig noise), Sheep, BAAA! Donkey, eee-ahhh" I loved it!
After the fall festival pumpkin patch we took Rowan for his first In N Out burger! We told him we were going to get cheeseburgers and he said, "McDonalds"? We assured him it would be more delicious than McDonalds...and at the end of the meal he agreed ;) Order: Cheeseburger, spread only
And of course...a milkshake. Strawberry vanilla. He took his first sip and started doing a funny little laugh. He was SO excited about it. We didn't let him try it until he'd pretty much finished his meal, because we knew he wouldn't put it down...and we weren't wrong :)
And, we got to ride in (and Grant helped his dad work on), the 1955 Ford truck :)
Rowan fell asleep on this first drive ;) But he LOVED the truck!
I wasn't good at taking pictures of the rest of our fun in Arizona but
we had a lot of it! Here are a few random ones from my phone...Some highlights were: Rowan playing with trucks in
the dirt (he climbed in their empty raised garden beds!), playing with
new fun trucks, hanging out with family (including Brandon and Karleigh who now live only 40 mins from Grant's parents!), delicious food (both home and
out), and of course, Halloween (post to follow).
This house is across the street from them and every time we backed into the garage Rowan would see the trees and yell "pineapples!" He also said cucumber every time he saw a tall cactus with no "arms" :)

New hair. Thanks Jen!
Playing with their Japanese stickers
Cuddles with Grandma and Bub watching a movie
Playing with dangerous metal trucks...the best kind.
Arizona treated us well...we had so much fun and were finally feeling pretty on schedule ;)

We got to meet up with Carol (Oceanside neighbor) for a bit at the park. It was great to catch up and let her see Rowan again and meet Boden
Grant's happy place :) New hair. Thanks Jen!
