Merry Christmas!

We woke up in the morning (I think around 6:30 which is actually really late for Rowan). He opened his door and exclaimed, "SANTA!" I love that he is starting to anticipate and remember so much. He then came in our room and as we were getting dressed I could see that his legs were visibly shaking. I asked what was wrong and in the cutest little voice he said, "so excited!" I couldn't believe it, it was adorable :)
We walked downstairs together and I think Rowan was a little overwhelmed by it all. He didn't know what to look at first. He almost didn't even notice his "trash truck" that he had been talking about for months. He loved everything though (including Boden's presents). We had Boden crawl over to his presents and he proceeded to knock over all the blocks, etc. It was pretty cute. Christmas as a parent is as fun as it was as a kid (especially since my parents still spoil me and I get to spoil my babies too now).
Sharing is a very hard thing in this house right now but we're working on it. Rowan likes showing Boden his toys, just doesn't like him to touch anything. He will push him out of the way while saying, "Please move Bo, please move Bo!" So polite but not nice at the same time :)
Stockings were another fun treat for him to learn about. We actually didn't do any candy in them this year (might be a first) because he gets a little carried away with treats...there were plenty around the house already :)
Boden opening presents for the first time! He barely got to unwrap anything because Rowan took it upon himself to open everyone's presents for them...sometimes without us even looking :)
Some other toy highlights were a fun construction train and a tractor and wagon with lots of little animals to pull around.

For dinner, we went to the Finlaysons and had an awesome meal! We did cheese fondue (I found a pinterest recipe that turned out SO good!) with bread and apples, and then steak wrapped in bacon, potatoes, salad, rolls and the Japanese traditional Christmas dinner, a bucket of KFC! Midori brought this which was so fun It really is the traditional meal for Christmas here, you have to order way in advance, it comes with a commemorative plate, etc. Pretty funny!
Then for dessert we had a huge spread with our chocolate fondue. It was delicious!
And without even trying, these boys matched pretty well. If only Grant had worn his red shorts ;) Maybe next time.
Merry Christmas! It was such a fun day. We got to facetime with family, spend the day together and with friends, and celebrate the birth of our Savior. Rowan liked to remind us that it was Jesus' birthday and we were having a birthday party :)
