After getting back from Montreal, my parents stayed for another week and it was Spring Break for both Grant and Rowan so we decided to have some fun. Having just gotten back from a trip and with a huge impending move, we didn't want to do anything too big, so we settled on a few fun day trips. The first place we went was Hershey, PA. We decided to go up the night before so we could swim and play at a hotel and then be up there to get to the factory early. Hershey Park wasn't open for the season yet but we mostly wanted to do the factory (we're planning some Disneyland and Legoland trips in the near future so no need for amusement parks right now) so it worked out great.
Hershey's Chocolate World! We finished reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory a few weeks before so it was perfect timing and the kids were super excited. I was a little worried that they would be slightly disappointed that it wasn't like Wonka where you can eat everything in sight, but luckily they thought it was awesome still!
4-D movie time!
Chocolate Tasting
And then everyone's favorite part, the make your own candy bar. We designed what we wanted in it, the kind of chocolate, the wrapper, etc and then watched it go through the assembly line of machines.
And then there was just a lot of fun walking around checking out all the crazy chocolate stuff they had!
Dylan disliked the Easter bunny just as much as Santa.
On the way home we drove through Gettysburg and did a little driving historical tour (since it was right on our way and I needed to stop to pee anyways so it worked out great!) Hershey was a really fun day trip and glad we got to experience it while we lived close.
