As if running 13 miles wasn't enough...
To finish off the day Saturday (after the half marathon), Grant and I decided to buy a boat! Yes, Grant keeps telling people that, and then tells them what kind of boat it is, not nearly as exciting as it sounds, but on our college student budget it is the perfect little toy. We got a pedal boat. Who needs a trailer when you have the Protege5! It seriously serves so many purposes, it has been the perfect little car.
After we got home from Louisville, we took a quick shower and headed up to Cincinnati to look at this boat that Grant found on craigslist. Everything looked great, so we loaded it on the car, tied it down through the windows and the sunroof and made our way back to Lexington.
We headed out to Jacobsen Park, on the east side of town, where there's a good sized lake/pond where Grant could fish a little before dinner. Grant's reason for wanting the boat was so that he could fish and I could lay out on the water. Sounds like a perfect little plan for me. I'll take a book and my bathing suit and he can take his fishing poles and a hat, and we can get a little exercise while we do it.
