The purpose of my visit when we booked my flight was to help my mom take care of Joan, but she obviously passed away before I got here, and even so early that I missed the funeral. So in her honor we bought some beautiful flowers and took them to her grave (which was perfect because the ones from the funeral were just about dead). We also took flowers to my mom's parents and Grandma Rose. It was nice to add some beautiful flowers to each of their graves and remember them.
I couldn't leave San Diego without an authentic Mexican meal either, which we did for lunch at El Indio. I love taquitos so my mom and I shared a plate and a chicken enchilada. SO good. You can't be 12 miles north of the border and not enjoy some delicious food.
My mom and I spent the afternoon doing what we do best, SHOPPING :) (Sorry dad). We hit up the shops at Mission Beach and then went to UTC in La Jolla. It was crazy windy today (which is apparent from my hair in the picture below), so I didn't get to enjoy much of the beach, but we had a lot of fun today.
And to finish off my southern California food experience, we of course ate at In-N-Out for dinner and brought Grandpa along to share the joy :)
At least it was sunny and you were at the beach instead of in a SNOWSTORM! I'k glad you had a good trip I wish we were there at the same time though!
ReplyDeleteEnding a vacation is always the worst!! But looks like you had an amazing time.
ReplyDeleteHey! Thanks :) Seriously, the triathlon was so much fun... you're dying the whole way through it but it is completely worth it at the end! Do it do it do it. I think I have found a new addiction.
ReplyDeleteGood luck on the half marathon! I think I might do one the end of this summer....
Hey Taryn! Could you send me your mailing address please?
ReplyDeleteWhat a great vacation!!! Glad you were able to spend time there with family.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a great trip. Thought about you today during check-outs and all it did today was rain. In fact it poured!
