And the fun continues...

Monday morning, we sent Grant off to work (poor guy) and went out to explore San Diego. We started at the cove in La Jolla (who wouldn't want to go see-and smell-all those sea lions?!) As always, there were tons on the rocks, but we also got to get up close and personal with this guy on the sand.
He laid there quietly sleeping for everyone else to take their picture, and then when I walked up he decided to wake up and check me out..freaked me out a little, but he looks pretty harmless here :)
Apparently the lady taking our photo didn't get the memo that we wanted it taken with our new little friend...oh well, you can still see him poking out behind us :)
Gorgeous shot looking back at La Jolla shores...
After the cove, we walked along the cliffs for a few minutes and then headed up into town for some shopping-with a quick stop at Starbucks (had to indulge the coffee drinkers since we didn't have any at home :)
We had so much fun shopping (especially at Kate Spade). They were having a good sale (I think only one item was purchased at full price). I don't have much to show for the shopping day (unlike Rachel and Natalie), only because I had just ordered some stuff online and was waiting for it to arrive. I got an even better sale but didn't get the instant gratification or fun packaging :)
 Showing off their spoils!
After La Jolla, we drove down the coast and enjoyed some pizza and fish tacos at Pacific Beach Bar and Grille (recommendation made by Rachel's bro-in-law)...it was delicious! And then we headed to Coronado. I'm so glad the sun was out, which made for beautiful scenery everywhere.
Enjoying the most expensive scoop of ice cream I think I have ever eaten (or probably ever will eat). I'm not usually a huge ice cream person, but maybe baby has a little bit of Grant in him and was wanting some...enough to justify the exorbitant price. The fact that it was purchased at Hotel Del and we ate it on the beach helped in the justification also.

 Beach babes :)

That night we ate dinner out on the balcony (chicken caesar salad and Rachel's homemade guac)...and watched the sunset (although some clouds rolled in so we only got a little peak of it before it fell into the ocean.
Tuesday was a little gloomier, but Rachel and I took a good walk in the morning (while Natalie rested-finding out the day she got home that she was exhausted because she has mono!) Then got ready and headed out for coffee at their favorite place at the harbor followed by more shopping (even though we said no shopping was allowed after all the purchases the first day!
I was a little more successful on the shopping front the second day, getting a few maternity items at H&M and some shoes, a shirt and a clutch at the Loft (have to work the accessories right now since I don't want to load up too heavily on maternity clothes that I can't wear anymore in a couple months!)
That night we cruised in Grant's car down to The Lighthouse (one of our favorite restaurants) and they treated us to a delicious seafood dinner.
Natalie was overjoyed to find out they had a wine with her last name and asked to take a picture with the bottle :)
After dinner, we walked along the dock, got some more ice cream and headed home for another fun night.
The next morning I had to say goodbye. We took a little detour through the San Diego harbor before heading to the airport and got a picture with the sailor and nurse... (and I realized that that it is a representation of Grant and I-my Navy sailor and me the nurse-although he hasn't been on a ship and I'm unemployed...but still fun to think about)...

Thanks so much for visiting! It was so much fun to have you here!!!
