I was lucky enough to be blessed with the company of two awesome friends from nursing school in Kentucky last week! Rachel asked for a trip out here from her dad for Christmas and was finally able to get the days off she needed to come out. Natalie found out and did some switching at work to come out with her! I on the other hand, was pretty available, but did actually take a day off of work (volunteering) to hang out with them :) I always get nervous about the weather before I have guests (like I have some control over it) and the week before they came was so sunny and hot which would have lended itself to some good beach days. However, it cooled down a little but was still really nice and we had a lot of fun!
Grant and I picked them up at the airport on Saturday night and headed to Little Italy for dinner (yum!)
We had dinner (pizza, spaghetti and ravioli) at Fillippi's Pizza Grotto (we used to go all the time when we would visit growing up, but I hadn't been since we've moved here, so that was fun). It's a fun restaurant because you wait in line to be seated through a little Italian market with all sorts of interesting stuff!

And we couldn't be in Little Italy without visiting our other favorite place...Extraordinary Desserts. I'm not even really a big dessert person but I still love taking people here because everything is so beautiful and tasty!
We had a passion fruit ricotta cake (love the fruit sauces), Viking chocolate cake and salted caramel ice cream! I couldn't pick a favorite. It was the perfect combination to share...
Sunday Grant and I went to church in the morning while they took a walk on the beach and then we all went out to the sand for some bocce ball and napping :)
Grant was kind enough to dig me a hole for my belly so I could nap on my tummy...it was PERFECT! I might have to start sleeping out there one night a week or something :)
Of course Natalie on her phone instead of relaxing ;)

For dinner we grilled up some steaks, fish and asparagus and paired it with some awesome potatoes...delicious surf and turf dinner!
And the fun continued...

I love that he dug a belly hole for you.
