Because of our long weekend, we also got to participate in several Easter events which we thoroughly enjoyed. Holidays are becoming increasingly fun as Rowan starts to grasp the excitement. Grant got off work at noon on Thursday and their command had an Easter party with an egg hunt. Unfortunately I had to work, but the boys had a great time and I got to enjoy through the pics :) He ran from one egg to the next picking up as many as he could. I was actually surprised how well he picked up on this concept.
Saturday morning we dyed Easter eggs. I wasn't sure how it would go with a 1.5 year old, but it was actually really fun. For those of you with young kids, the whisk worked great! He would put it in the cup, pull it out and shout, "WOAH!" It was so cute ;)
After our morning at the beach, we came home for Rowan to take a nap and then headed down to the beach outside our house. Brea had put together a neighborhood/friends Easter potluck/egg hunt/party. I love loving on the beach for reasons like this. In my opinion, almost everything is better on the beach...including Easter egg hunts :)
Rowan is a big fan of bunnies, however, he is NOT a fan of the Easter bunny :) He had a similar reaction to Santa, didn't want to get near him! He did warm up enough to give him a high 5 at the end, but he was definitely not posing for a picture with him.
We had a really good turnout with lots of kids. Many of the eggs were just "hidden" in the sand, so these were easy enough for him to find. The race was on. Each family brought 12 eggs per kid, so they were all able to find a dozen of them. Rowan filled up his basket with little to no help from us!
"Just one more"
We got to play Easter bunny, which is always fun. He ran straight to the truck stickers (he's obsessed), and then we played with his new bubbles for awhile!
And then we came home and made rolls for dinner. Brea invited us down for a delicious dinner with great company to celebrate the atonement and resurrection of our Savior.
And the day wouldn't have been complete without a walk down to the beach to see the CAT that is currently there repairing our fence :) Waving "hi" to the tractor!
HAPPY EASTER!

That whisk idea is genius. Wish I had thought of that!
