On Saturday morning we decided we wanted to get out and do something early, so we headed down to Coronado for the morning. There's a sunken ship (the Monte Carlo, an old party ship) that can be seen at certain times a year at low tide. We went at the lowest tide of the day, but it still wasn't quite low enough. We could see a little bit of it, but nothing like we were hoping. However, I wasn't mad at all because it got us out on this perfect morning adventure!
We walked along the seawall, on the beach and down to Hotel Del and then headed back to the car. We played in the sand, raced each other, and made people laugh.
Next we drove down Orange St and decided to eat at Clayton's, a cute diner that had been recommended by my friend Olivia. There was about a 30 mins wait, but we kept busy looking at doughnuts and catching bugs :) Rowan used to be terrified of holding insects, but has recently become extremely into holding them ;) ..."he's SO cute"
Mmmmm....
Finally we got a table, with this fun old juke box, that the waitress said sometimes works, so we gave it a shot...2 songs for 25 cents seemed worth it :) Rowan chose "Wild Thing" and I picked a Beach Boys song.
And despite Rowan's face in this pic, we were SO excited about breakfast. We used to go out to breakfast fairly often in Oki, but haven't more than once since we moved here, so it was a fun treat! We got biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs, french toast and an average looking but insanely delicious cinnamon roll!
The kids ate really well, making me feel ok with the fact that we finished off every last bite.

Love hanging out with my family, we need to have Saturday morning look like this more often!
