We have been talking about ice skating for awhile now but hadn't done it yet. Alexa had a great idea to go today, since it was actually in the 30s (instead of single digits or teens like it was for a few weeks). I was feeling lazy and like it was going to be cold, but decided to say yes anyways and we were so glad we did. It was so much fun! Grant hung out with Dylan on the sidelines, but when Mike decided he was done skating, he put on his skates and tried it out! I didn't realize he had never skated before, but he was a natural!
It was nice they had these little things to help the kids out. Boden mostly just stood on the base and I pushed him around, which was actually really fun.
Rowan originally preferred the 2 hand hold...and Mike and Alexa were great to help him!
Boden had fun for a bit but then decided he was done, and hung out with Grant, playing in the rocks outside the rink.
Crazy skaters
After Boden got off the ice, I had Rowan try the pole thing to push. It took him a minute to get used to it but then he loved it! It was so cute and he was so proud of himself for being able to do it by himself.
When Grant got on the ice for the first time, he skated by us and I said, "Wow, you're a natural!" Rowan looked up to see which made him fall over and as he was falling he yelled, "I'm not a natural!" I was laughing to hard!
Grateful to have had this fun day together
We then celebrated my half birthday at Habit burger (which has become a half birthday tradition). Great Saturday afternoon!
