Mallory's baby shower

Well I won't bore you with the details, but just thought I'd share some pics of Mallory's baby shower today. It was at my house which always sounds like a good deal, then gets stressful (even though it shouldn't be) and then turns out great in the end. Congrats Mal! Since I am still poor and couldn't afford both decorations and a gift, I decided to combine them and use mine and Melea's gifts (the onesies and stuffed animal hanging from the line below) as decoration. I hung some string and used clothespins to hang up the little clothes. Pretty cute :) And Mallory wearing some of her cute new presents. Why are small clothes so cute?! Well I decided I should probably keep my cake skills up so decided to make one for the festivities. It is the first one I've made since we moved and everything worked out just like it always does, but I did notice that fondant acts very differently in humid Kentucky versus dry Utah. It is a little stickier and doesn't dry out fast at all (so the change is both good and bad). I think I prefer it in dry conditions but it worked out ok anyways.

Topped with travel sized baby goodies :)

The full spread. Anything for an excuse to eat some good food.
Congratulations Mallory, Sage is going to have some dang cute stuff!

  1. Jeff says the cake was great! In fact, he is trying to save it and eat it slowly. And I, of course, thought it smelled like it tasted awesome!

  2. Perfect, now can you make one that says "Melly" instead of "Mallroy?"

  5. Cute idea with the clothes line and clothes pins! Love the cake too. I keep thinking about whether or not I really want to put the effort into making Sean a cool cake for his b-day. Andrea is throwing me a shower in Idaho Falls-- wish you could come!

  7. I am going to steal the decoration/present idea for sure! So Cute! I am also so impressed with the cute cake. I wish I knew how to do something like that. I made awesome chocolate chip cookies last night, but that somehow doesn't seem to compare!
