In redoing our bathroom, it also meant redoing the closet, as it is part of the bathroom. We never really liked how it was set up, especially the shoe section. It infringed on the space of some of our clothes, was in the way walking into the closet, looked messy, and our shoes were always piled high on it, making it difficult, if not impossible to see all the options. We looked forever to try and find something that would work in our not so large walk in closet and we found the perfect thing!
BEFORE- (Note: this was as we started the remodel process in here (note the patched walls, etc.) It has since been painted. Also, several shoes had already been pulled off when I realized I should get a picture in case we found a better solution-and we did!)

AFTER

We bought 2 "back of the door" shoe hanger things and adapted the hangers to hang on the wall instead of over the door. It utilizes the vertical space in the closet (since that is where most of the space is). We were a little skeptical as this only allowed us each 18 pairs of shoes...and while at Lowe's I had NO idea how many pairs I had. We went home and went through each of our shoe collections, trying to get down to as few pairs as we could (without getting rid of anything we still really wanted/needed). We did a dang good job. I have a few "winter" shoes in a bin at the top of the closet, my boots beneath my shirts, and we added another shelf at the bottom for our flip flops, but all in all, we were VERY successful in organizing our shoes and getting rid of stuff we didn't need. Feels so good!
And here is a pile going to Goodwill. The 2 bags in back are full of clothes but the entire front bag if full of my shoes :( Probably about 8-10 pairs!

...and you thought I was done with house posts :)
Looks great! It is really satisfying to condense and organize. Again, you guys are amazing!
