Nothing comes close to the middle of Ohio

Taryn is worried that people might not want to read our blog anymore after I make this post but I really don't think it is that bad. Besides who want to see pics of the beach, delicious looking food or something else that you might actually want. So I present you with two little gems that I found in the middle of Ohio to share with the rest of you. Don't worry these trips are a far rare occurrence and Taryn will be back in charge after this post.

I have really wanted to build a cobra kit car and turn this
Into this

and then do this with Taryn. You could buy a ride in someones cobra and the money went to Cystic Fibrosis charity. There was a huge line and they were racing down this street all day.

So I said, do you have any plans this weekend?
T-No, you are studying right?
G-Well I think I need a break would you like to go to London?
T-Haha London KY?
G-No London OH!
T-Is there a car show there?
G-A cobra kit car show...PLEEAAASE? It's past the outlets so we can go there on the way back?
That sealed the deal and good thing too cause I got her b-day presents while we were there.

Then the real gem since we were a ways from the freeway and we had to take some country roads to get back I spotted this off the side of the road (of course I knew exactly what it was) and had to make a U-turn which you'll hear about later from Taryn.
Then we saw all these cool riding lawn mowers driven by kids and adults designed to compete in a miniature tractor pull. More pics less talking so here is what we saw. Just in case anyone out there is looking for inspiration with how to take their lawn mower to the next level.

THe bathroom that I'm pretty sure isn't tall enough for me to stand up in.

If you don't know what a tractor pull is and Taryn didn't then you can google it. Or better yet you can hear her explanation of what it is at the end of this video. So after you watch the excitement portrayed in this video of Garden Tractor Pulls please comment if you agree or not with Taryn's summary at the end of the video in the comments section. I will not be offended in the least if no one sides with me.

Upon leaving Taryn says, "This is why places like this have such a problem with Drinking"

  1. Taryn I don't know how you could not have loved all of that?! Love the drinking comment though, so true. Ps I was looking through old pictures the other day with one of my friends and saw the mustang/tahoe trip. You definitely need the cobra kit car.

  3. Sorry Grant, I'm with Taryn! They have way too much time on their hands... or country in their blood! I guess I just don't get it being from CA! :)

  4. I can see why there would be a drinking problem but it definitely beats out a World Cup game. :)

  5. Well I guess you could say that was a cultural experience...I can't believe they actually do that. I don't get it...I think I would start drinking if I had to watch that any more then I just did!! :) lol sorry grant.

  10. Yeah Your cobra kit sounds like fun. Sam and I still plan on making something and we are running out of time. The kids going to be 16 in only 8 short years. We are still in debate about what to build. I'm leaning toward a porsche 356 or 550. I've taken Sam to a few car shows lately and according to his 8 year olds taste as long as it has lots of flames on it than its pretty cool.
I keep trying to get Laura to go with me to a Monster truck show with no success. However if I happen to see one going on on the side of the road, you know I'd do a U-turn too. If you happen upon a lawn mower race those look like fun too.

  12. I am so glad you looked at the blog Tim so that I now have one perfectly sane person that totally agrees with me. Hopefully we'll be down there in SoCAL one day and can tinker together. Tell Sam flames are cool :)

  13. It has to be seen to be believed but I would have to agree with Taryn about the tractors and the drinking. However, the cobra could be a fun project.
