a VERY little project..

As the year winds down and Grant has a little bit of time before starting hard core studying for boards...he has found yet another project in using his dental skills for another purpose.

We wanted to capture how tiny the triplets really are so decided to make molds of their fists and feet. It is done using the exact stuff the dentist uses to make impressions of your mouth and the stone is what is used to make the mold. The babies behaved well, though it was a little tricky getting them to hold a fist, but overall they turned out awesome!
Allie was still in the hospital during the initial session, but we got her's done a few days later...It is so funny to watch Al and Grant work on projects together. They are both so detail oriented and loved every minute of it. Karrie and I ran to Target for a few hours one day and came home to them still working on it.
And here is a sampling of some of the final products...Madison and Allie's hands, and Jordan's foot. We did in the end have 1 fist and 1 foot standing up on a base for each baby.
I think they turned out SO cute. It is impossible to show how cute and tiny they are in a picture, so this will be a physical reminder they can have forever!

  6. I am so glad you did this! A friend of mine is a dental assistant and she did this for Dino. I look at his little fist and foot every day. I'll have to get it done for every baby!

ps--great idea for a side business...

  7. What a great idea! It would be hard to remember just how little they were. It would be interesting to see them next to something in the picture to give perspective. Very cool.
