Full circle

Yesterday I had my 6 week (actually 7 week) postpartum checkup. I left feeling like I had come full circle with this huge event in my life. No more OB appointments until I decide to embark on this adventure again. I feel so blessed that everything went so smoothly throughout my pregnancy, delivery and these first wonderful weeks of Rowan's life. This year in Oceanside will bring memories of so many things, but will always hold a tender place in my heart because of these wonderful experiences.
These last 7 weeks have been so many things, but I can honestly say that it's been mostly wonderful. Besides battling a rough case of thrush (which made breastfeeding a terribly painful process for far too long), Rowan has been a good little eater and sleeper and is such a smiley and awesome baby. We love him!  I am starting to feel like a normal person again which is a wonderful thing. It is crazy how out of shape I feel despite exercising so much throughout my pregnancy. Honestly I think walking was almost easier when I was 8 months pregnant than it is now, but I know it'll come back eventually. I started trying to run again but decided I'm just going to stick to mostly walking until we complete the move and get settled. No use trying to get in shape in the next 2 weeks.

When Mat and Jen were here last week they were kind enough to take some pics of us out on "our beach." They turned out pretty cute :)

Lion King tongue out photo :)
Love this family photo! (and love that even Rowan is looking at the camera). Hilarious that his tongue is out. He loved to stick out his tongue for the first few days of his life but really hadn't at all in weeks (until this photo shoot!)
Walking back to our house. What an incredible experience this year has been.
What?! We're moving to JAPAN?!  I think I feel a little like he looks ;)
The awesome news of the day is that Rowan's passport is on the way and should arrive early next week meaning that unless something goes wrong in the next couple weeks we will all get to travel over to Okinawa together!
