GPR graduation

Grant graduated from his general practice residency last week and it really made us reflect on all that has happened in the last year. Our graduation from dental/nursing school last spring seems like a lifetime ago yet it feels like this year flew by. I'm proud of Grant for deciding to do a residency (not a requirement) to further his knowledge and skills and also for being accepted into this program (and lucky for us were accepted at Camp Pendleton :)
The ceremony was last Friday morning at 9am. Grant went in to work at normal time so I was on my own. It was the first time I had to be somewhere in the morning, make sure I was on time, and really needing Rowan to be asleep through the whole thing. I felt like a crazy person getting ready that morning, but I have to say it was a total success. I got there 30 minutes early, Rowan slept the entire time, and we both looked presentable :)
The ceremony was outside the hospital and will be the last graduation in that location as they are moving to a new hospital this winter (sad we just missed that by a year-especially since the new hospital is only like 5 minutes from our house). It was SO hot...but I used the excuse of having an infant in a stroller to stand in the shade to the side. Even though I didn't have a chair it was the best decision ever as I watched everyone fanning themselves and pulling their sweaty clothes from their bodies.
CAPT Iverson (the CO of the hospital) presented them with their certificates.
Brooke was already gone, but here are the 3 remaining residents and their program director CAPT Tanaka.
Proud of my sailor :) And fun to see him in uniform since it doesn't occur often.
Rowan apparently didn't think it was too exciting ;) but I'm so glad he slept the whole time! Wearing his button up and new khakis-looking sharp!
Congrats Grant! Can't believe we're almost off to Okinawa!
